Volunteering

Tidal Family Support is always interested in hearing from people who can spare the time to volunteer and help the children and parents we support.

What can we offer you:

  1. Training in all aspects of being a volunteer
  2. Mentoring and support from team leaders
  3. A chance to help your local community

The Volunteer Experience – why do our Volunteers support Tidal Family Support

  • Witnessing the development of a child’s relationship with a parent who no longer resides at home with them brings me the most joy.
  • Rebuilding trust through contact sessions enables parents to establish meaningful and constructive relationships with their kids.
  • Collaborating working with other volunteers.
  • This is a wonderful way to give back;  I want to do something worthwhile with my free time.
  • It’s so lovely to see the joy on the faces of the children and their parents when they meet.

Family Contact Centre volunteers have to be discrete, impartial, caring, enthusiastic, tolerant, reliable and sensitive. They must be able to deal with difficult situations and with parents under stress. They must also be prepared to work as part of a mutually supporting team.

If you are interested in an opportunity to volunteer, please make contact with the centre on 01983 639793 or email on info@tidalfamilysupport.org.uk
