Using a contact centre is a safe place to spend time with someone that you don’t get to see very often.
This can be a worrying and exciting time for you; however the people that work here are experienced in supporting people in your situation.
Before you come to your first contact session you will have a chance to come in and meet the team, including contact supervisors. The team will help you to understand how they will work with you, what rules will be in place and will be there to answer any questions you may have. You will have the opportunity to look around the centre before your first contact and talk to us about any worries or questions you may have.
Here at Tidal we have a range of resources available for you to use during your contacts.
A few things we have available are…
You’ll get a proper look around so you can feel comfortable with the space.
We’ll explain how things work and what to expect when you’re here.
You’ll have the chance to ask questions or share anything that’s on your mind.
We’ll point out where things are — like quiet spaces, games, books, and activities if you want them.
This isn’t forever — just something to help for now. Our aim is to support you and your family so that things can move forward in a healthier, more manageable way.
If you have questions or worries, it’s okay to speak up. We’re here to listen and support you, in whatever way you need.
There’s no minimum age to use a contact centre. If you feel like it’s something you need, you’re allowed to ask about it — whatever your age.
That said, the younger you are, the more help you might need to get things set up and to understand how it all works. If you’re under 16, it’s a good idea to ask an adult you trust to help — like a parent, family member, CAFCASS officer, social worker, or teacher.
If you’d rather speak to someone directly, you can always call us on 01983 639 793. We’ll do our best to explain everything and help you feel supported.
