What to expect
Initially, you will be invited to the centre for a pre-visit. A pre-visit allows you to have a look around our centre, get to know staff members and meet your key worker. This makes coming to the centre for contact less daunting for the first time. We want you to enjoy your time at our centre. Let Tidal staff know how your feeling, so that they can support you.
Your first contact will then be arranged between Tidal Family Support and your parents. The first contact may feel a bit uncomfortable or confusing to you at first, and that is okay, doing something new for the first time can make you feel this way. If there is anything that you know that will make you feel more comfortable and relaxed, notify Tidal staff, they may be able to make arrangements to contact to support you.
Your parents will then be issued a contact schedule. This details the frequency of contact, including the time and date of when you will be attending. This can vary depending on your family’s circumstances. But the schedule should reflect your family’s availability, so do let your parents know about anything you have planned!
